Joga Bonita of a weekend

What a weekend to kick off the summer of beach soccer. The 1st Beach Soccer competition held by Lifestyle Beach sports on the 25th & 26th of November has been completed and with huge success.

With eight teams competing in two groups of 4, there was plenty of high quality games, alongside it plenty of goals and thrills for the spectators. Over the first day, there was high drama in all twelve games as the majority of them were tight and only a goal or two had separated the teams. With the music in the background it only encouraged bicycle kicks, side volleys and plenty of spectacular goals so the spectators were not disappointed. In the end only 4 of the teams could advance to the Semi Finals the next day.

With 4 teams left on the Sunday, there was sure to be even more drama for all the finals and all teams did not disappoint. An average of 11 goals a game had the spectators cheering the whole time. Team “Joga Bonita” who eventually won the competition had high praises for the tournament and can’t wait to see this sport grow here in Victoria. In fact all teams in the competition, thoroughly enjoyed the experience and vowed to come back in future tournaments. All in all, LBS was quite happy with how the competition went and are looking forward to hosting more tournaments over the coming summer.
